As every year, Vicat Prompt natural cement shall attend the International Cultural Heritage Fair that will be held from 25 to 28 October 2018 in Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre. This year’s theme is, ‘European Heritage, Shared Heritage.’ The fair brings together those who work on the built, non-built, tangible and intangible heritage restoration and preservation sectors.
On this occasion, the Vicat Prompt natural cement team will unveil its solutions for heritage restoration projects and its new support materials, particularly the pocket-size application-sheet book, which contains 23 sheets about restoration & decoration, fast masonry work, and water and sanitation projects.

Take part in Prompt natural cement workshops, during which a demonstration of moulding of small decorative elements will take place from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 and from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. every day on our neighbouring stand.
Vicat will take part in four conferences:
- ‘Prompt natural cement, 170 years of history’, which will be held on Friday 26/10/2018 from 1.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. in the conference room, Delorme, and will be chaired by Marco Cappellari, Product Development Manager.
- ‘Construction of the Louis Vicat bridge in Souillac (Lot) and the invention of artificial cement in 1817’, which will be held on Saturday 27/10/2018 from 11.45 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. in the conference room, Delorme, and will be chaired by Sophie Sidos, President of the Louis Vicat Foundation and Pierre-Olivier Boyer, Administrator of the Louis Vicat Foundation.
The following two conferences are organised by the Guilde des Métiers de la Chaux (Guild for lime professionals)
- ‘Thermal insulation and bioresources’, which will be held on 26/10/18 from 2.15 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. at Studio Théâtre, Comédie Française
- ‘Haussmannian façades’, which will be held on Thursday 25/10/18 from 12.00 to 1.00 p.m. in the conference room, Delorme
Geste d'Or contest
Vicat, a partner committed to the ‘Association du Geste d’Or’, supports, informs and trains individuals and firms involved in heritage restoration projects, whether they are architects specialised in this field, companies or specialist craftsmen.
The Geste d'Or (or ‘golden gesture’) contest seeks to recognise work that combines sustainable (including ecological) treatment processes, people management (builders and users) and balanced financial engineering. Its purpose is to cast a spotlight on exemplary work.
Every year, at the International Cultural Heritage Fair, prizes, grand prizes and labels are awarded to worksites as a whole, various trades, landscapes, and professional categories: contracting party, project manager, compounding and application company, and management authority.
This year, Vicat has played a part in eight projects, which will be showcased on the Vicat Group's Facebook page in the future.
